4-Day Likuliku Lagoon Resort Getaway

Upon touching down at Nadi airport, you will be picked up and transferred to the nearby marina where you can make your way to the island either by private speedboat or on a fast catamaran. The islands of the Mamanucas are rich with coral reefs which makes them wonderful for snorkelling. Once you’ve checked in, if you’re up for a swim, we’d recommend either joining a snorkelling excursion or you can simply pick up the complimentary equipment at reception and head out on your own.

Complimentary snorkelling equipment is available, however, if you would prefer to venture further afield and explore other snorkel sites, there are daily trips heading out to various snorkelling sites nearby.

Sometimes you may even end up in an undiscovered part of the islands, seeing amazing marine life for the first time (organised trips are not included).

Relax and unwind as you soak in the beautiful scenery surrounding you. Your day is free so you can explore the island at your leisure. There are numerous activities available including a selection of complimentary non-motorised watersports. In the afternoon, for a change of pace, it is recommended that you join a village tour. It will provide a fascinating insight into how the indigenous landowners live.

Likuliku Lagoon Resort offers a daily-changing schedule of activities, including complimentary non-motorised watersports such as stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing and windsurfing, plus complimentary snorkelling equipment.

If you want to venture further afield and explore other snorkel sites, the resort offers daily trips to various sites nearby and sometimes you may even end up in an undiscovered part of the islands, seeing amazing marine life for the first time.

Within the immediate area surrounding Likuliku and Malolo Island, there is a marine reserve and fishing is strictly forbidden. However, the resort offers a variety of fishing excursions to areas where keen anglers can troll for Tuna or perhaps a Giant Trevally.

On this tour, you will experience how indigenous landowners live at the local villages of Yaro and Solevu by taking the “Shell Village Tour”. Solevu is also the home of the Paramount Chief of the Mamanuca Islands.

You can also experience a traditional Fijian church service available to guests each Sunday. Fiji is a multi-religious country represented by all major religions. The majority of Fijians are Christians and on Malolo Island, there is a Methodist service each Sunday at Yaro Village where the highlight is to experience the exquisite voices of the local Fijian choir.

A popular activity to consider is the island hopping tour. It visits some truly stunning locations including Castaway Island, Mana Island, Matamanoa Island, MonuRiki Island (which is where the Tom Hanks movie Castaway was filmed) and Mana Sand Bank. There will be a few stops along the way allowing you plenty of time to swim, snorkel and explore. In the afternoon, head to the tranquil Tatadra Spa for a luxurious 45- minute massage.

Often the best time to be on the water is in the early morning before the wind picks up and it is certainly the best time for an early morning island hopping trip.

On this tour, you’ll be taken past Castaway Island, Mana Island, Matamanoa Island and finally, MonuRiki Island where you’ll stop for a swim, snorkel and walk along the beach.
MonuRiki Island is one of the most stunningly beautiful islands in the Mamanucas and is where the famous “Cast Away” movie with Tom Hanks was filmed.

The trip then heads north around Monu Island, west round the top of Yanuya Island, past Tokoriki Island before turning south for the return trip past Tavua Island and finally stopping at Mana Sand Bank for another swim and snorkel, before heading back for a late breakfast at the resort.

Enjoy a final sunrise at the Likuliku Lagoon Resort before the end of your Fiji trip. Once you have checked out of the resort, you’ll head back to the mainland. Upon your arrival that the marina, a driver will be waiting to meet you and transfer you to the airport.
