Southern Dream itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive Christ church
Welcome to Christchurch. Make your own way to your accommodation and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure to discover why this city is famous for its beautiful gardens. (D)

Day 2 – Christchurch to Dunedin
Journey down the coast as you pass through the township of Oamaru, home to some of the best-preserved heritage buildings. Visit the mystical Moeraki Boulders before arriving into Dunedin, home to rich heritage, wild-life and a unique quirky character. (B)

Day 3 – Dunedin to Te Anau
Visit the iconic Larnach Castle and en-joy the magnificent gardens. Visit Gore and learn of its colourful past includ-ing a visit to the Hokonui Moonshine Museum. This evening you will arrive at Te Anau, the gateway to the majes-tic Fiordland National Park. (B,D)

Day 4 – Te Anau to Queenstown
Today, experience the incredible and bucket-list worthy Doubtful Sound. It is the deepest of New Zealand’s 14 fiords and its immense size leaves all who visit feeling humbled yet uplifted by its powerful physical presence. This afternoon you will begin the journey to Queenstown passing through lush farmland and stunning views around every corner. (B)

Day 5 – Queenstown
Enjoy today at leisure to wander through the vibrant alpine town or purchase a sightseeing experience via your Tour Guide.(B)

Day 6 – Queenstown to Haast
On the journey to Haast, you will visit historic Arrowtown and picturesque Wanaka. Arrive into the West Coast where you will visit the village of Jack-son Bay, home to spectacular ocean views and the Southern Alps. (B,L)

Day 7 – Haast to Franz Josef
Continue travelling north along the West Coast until you reach Fox and Franz Josef, home to New Zealand’s most spectacular and accessible glaciers. This evening enjoy dinner in Franz Josef, surrounded by rainforest and a backdrop of mountains. (B,D)

Day 8 – Franz Josef to Christchurch
Visit the seaside town of Hokitika be-fore boarding the TranzAlpine, where you will ascend the Southern Alps by train to Christchurch. (B)
